Mysuru, Jan 13: Revenue Minister V?Srinivas Prasad on?Monday reiterated his demand for a dalit chief minister in the State.

Speaking to the media at the Government Guest House in the city, Prasad, himself a prominent dalit leader, said, œHowever, time will decide whether a dalit will decorate the chair of chief minister or not.
Prasad was quick to clarify that he was not against the incumbent Chief Minister?Siddaramaiah. œIt is also unfair to think of ousting Siddaramaiah from power with the sole intention of giving an opportunity to a dalit leader. There are several such dalit leaders, and only time will decide on the same.
Prasad said the ongoing debate on a dalit chief minister had drawn the attention of the party high command. However, Chief Minister?Siddaramaiah is not unhappy with the development, clarified Prasad, stating that all was well in the party.
Supporting the demand for a dalit chief minister, Siddaramaiah said in Koppal on Monday that the appointment could happen at an appropriate time. He ruled out any such change in the State for now.
