Mangalore, Oct 19: People in Mangalore on Saturday evening experienced a small glimpse of heavenly wrath as the sky unleashed heavy thunder and lightning for hours.
People residing in high raised buildings closed their eyes and ears unable to bear the bombardment of nature which started at around 7.p.m and continued for almost two hours.
Heavy rains also lashed Mangalore, Udupi and other parts of Coastal Karnataka on Saturday night causing huge losses by destroying of crops.
The upheavals in nature also led to electricity disruptions throughout the twin districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi. Puttur, Sullia, Subrahmanya and surrounding areas were most affected by electricity disruption.
However, on Sunday morning people in Mangalore and Udupi cities woke up to a relatively brighter sun.
