Karkala, Aug 1: Moodbidri police on Thursday arrested two persons in connection with theft of areca nut worth Rs 90, 000 from a house in Palkedabailu in Dharegudde.
The arrested have been identified as Dinesh Poojary (28) and Harish Poojary (26), sons of Karunakara Poojary of Moodu Marnadu village.
The prime accused is still at large, police said.
The accused, painters by profession, gained entry into a house of Michael D'Mello and stole eight bags of areca each weighing 60 kgs, a LCD TV, a Sanio Deck and speaker.
Vincent D'Mello who is the care taker of the house complained to Moodbidri police who swung into action arrested the accused within 24 hours.
