Two women workers buried alive as earth caved in while digging to build wall

Madikeri, Nov 7: Two women workers were buried alive when earth caved in while digging to construct compound wall of the house.

Police said on Wednesday that the two women migrant labours, were trapped underneath when the earth started falling, while another labour was rescued.

Officials and the police said the accident was mainly due to loose soil following heavy rain in August under the South West Monsoon influence.

The victims have been identified as Gowramma(45) from Belur in Hassan District and Yeshoda (40) from Maderahalli in Chikkamagaluru.

Gowramma’s husband Masha Govi miraculously escaped.
