We want to change brain drain to brain gain: PM Modi at Pravasi Diwas

Bengaluru, Jan 8: Prime Minister said “We don’t see the colour of passports, but the relations written by blood.”

Addressing the 14th Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said “Indian diaspora has made invaluable contribution to our economy; We want to change brain drain to brain gain.”

The Prime Minister said “We don’t see the colour of passports, but the relations written by blood.”

Mr. Modi stated “The diaspora has contributed $69 billion to the economy” and further added “it represents the best of Indian ethos, culture and values.”

Mr. Modi said “We will shortly launch ‘Pravasi Kaushal Vikas Yojana’ targetted at Indian youth seeking overseas employment.”

On security of Indians abroad, Mr. Modi said "Security of Indians abroad is of utmost importance" and added that "External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has been proactive, prompt in helping distressed Indians abroad."

On black money and corruption, the Prime Minister said "Graft, blackmoney is making our politics, society hollow. It is unfortunate that there are some “political worshippers” of blackmoney."

The Prime Minister said "It is unfortunate that our fight against blackmoney, corruption is being termed anti-people by ‘rajnitik pujaris’."
