The tragic end of Rural Development Minister Gopinath Munde after a car accident on Tuesday gave rise to various conspiracy theories, rumors and strong suspicions across the country. 64-year-old leader was on his way to the Airport for a victory rally in his home state of Maharashtra when his sedan was hit by a car in New Delhi.

The development comes a day after Shiv Sena took a dig at Gopinath Munde over his chief ministerial ambitions in Maharashtra. Several BJP leaders such as Prakash Anna Shengde and Awadhut Wagh claim that it is impossible that such an accident can just happen, and are calling his accident to be a conspiracy, and have gone to the extent to demand a CBI probe.

Shengde, Maharashtra BJP spokesperson, claimed in an interview with Zee News that Munde's death was not an accident but a conspiracy. "It is hard to believe that such a big personality like him, a VIP, a minister of India with so much security, would pass away in an ordinary accident," he said. He added, "At six in the morning there is hardly any traffic in Delhi, in that situation, a car being hit from behind doesn't make sense."

Social media on Tuesday flooded with conspiracy theories with some going on to the extent of directly fingers at few prominent BJP leaders. “The entire description of the accident and death of Shri. Gopinath Munde is very suspicious. To top it all, the car has a small dent.RIP!”(sic) tweets Abhishek Patil.

Some others had stronger views, “RIP Gopinath Munde u were the haren pandya of Maharashtra” (sic) said Fan of Arun Shourie '. He also tweeted “munde was a strong contender for d CM 's char d people who may have killed him 1.n rane 2.raj T 3.udhav T 4.gadkari RIP Gopinath Munde”(sic)

“it was alleged ramesh kini was murdered by RAJ THAKREY its time CBI grills this alleged criminal RAJ for munde 's murder RIP Gopinath Munde”(sic) he added.

Suryanarayan Ganesh has similar thoughts, “Gadkari takes charge of Transport ministry. Arch rival Munde serious in a road accident. Are we seeing Haren Pandya model in Maharashtra” (sic) he tweeted.

Kush dedhia Mufc predicted these reactions, “There will be some conspiracy behind his death. #Rip Gopinath Munde” (sic) he tweeted.

Bramha kamal seemed disheartened by the conspiracy theories though, he tweeted “RIP Gopinath Munde And request to all conspiracy theorists, please wait for autopsy report.”(sic)

The tweet of atul kulkarni expressed concern for Maharashtra, “Pramod mahajan,Vilasrao Deshmukh,Balasaheb,Thakre,Gopinath Munde. MRashtra politics is changing at the hands of death rather than people :-( “ (sic) he added.

Bengaluru: 'Nati koli saaru' (country chicken curry) considered one of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s favourites along with steaming hot idlis was on the breakfast menu at Deputy CM D K Shivakumar’s residence on Tuesday, according to official sources.

The spread also included 'nati koli' fry, vada and pongal, among other items, they said.

In an apparent show of unity, Siddaramaiah visited Shivakumar’s residence for breakfast, just days after the two leaders shared a meal amid a simmering power tussle in the state Congress.

Siddaramaiah drove to the Deputy CM’s residence in Sadashivanagar, where he was received by Shivakumar and his brother D K Suresh, who is a former Congress MP.

Suresh and Kunigal MLA H D Ranganath, a relative of Shivakumar, joined them for breakfast, which featured a mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes.

Speaking to reporters later, Siddaramaiah said Shivakumar had invited him during his visit to the CM’s residence for breakfast on Saturday.

Asked about the difference between the two meals, the chief minister said, "At his (Shivakumar’s) house it was non-veg, while at my house it was veg. He is a vegetarian, I am a non-vegetarian. I had not prepared non-veg. I told DK to get chicken from the village as you won’t get the original in Bengaluru."

Shivakumar said he had initially invited Siddaramaiah to his residence, but the CM had suggested visiting his place first and reciprocating later. "It was a vegetarian breakfast at the CM’s house on Saturday," he noted.

"Today, I invited him (the CM) to my house. He enjoyed the breakfast, which had his Mysuru taste," Shivakumar added. At this point, Siddaramaiah remarked that Shivakumar’s wife is also from Mysuru.

Saturday’s breakfast at Siddaramaiah’s official residence, held as part of efforts by the Congress high command to ease tensions in the leadership dispute between the two, reportedly included idlis and sambar, according to official sources.

Mangaluru, Dec 15: Air India Express has announced that it will resume direct flight services between Mangaluru and Muscat from March 2026, restoring an important international air link for passengers from the coastal region.

Airport authorities said the service will operate twice a week—on Sundays and Tuesdays—from March 1. The initial flights are scheduled on March 3, 8 and 10, followed by March 15 and 17, with the same operating pattern to continue thereafter. The flight duration is approximately three hours and 25 minutes.

The Mangaluru–Muscat route was earlier operated under the 2025 summer schedule, with services beginning on July 14. At that time, Air India Express had operated four flights a week before suspending the service.

Officials said the summer schedule will come into effect from March 29, after which changes in flight timings and departure schedules from Mangaluru are expected. Passengers have been advised to check the latest schedules while planning their travel.

The resumption of direct flights to Muscat is expected to significantly benefit expatriates, business travellers and others, further strengthening Mangaluru’s air connectivity with the Gulf region.

Mangaluru, Dec 3: A group of Congress workers gathered at the Mangaluru International Airport on Wednesday to welcome AICC general secretary K C Venugopal, but the reception quickly turned into a display of support for Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar.

Venugopal arrived in the city to participate in the centenary commemoration of the historic dialogue between Mahatma Gandhi and Narayana Guru. The event, organised by the Sivagiri Mutt, Varkala, in association with the Mangalore University Sri Narayana Guru Study Chair, is being held on the university’s Konaje campus.

KPCC general secretary Mithun Rai and several party workers had assembled at the airport to receive Venugopal. However, the moment he stepped out, workers began raising slogans backing Shivakumar.

The university programme will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

This show of support comes just a day after Siddaramaiah remarked that Shivakumar would lead the government “when the high command decides.” The chief minister made the comment after a breakfast meeting at Shivakumar’s residence—another public display of camaraderie between the two leaders amid ongoing attempts by the party high command to downplay their leadership rivalry.
