Mangaluru, Oct 12: Pledging to continue the agitation against pollution caused Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited, DYFI state president Muneer Katipalla warned of more protest against the industrial giant.

He was speaking at a public meeting organised by Jokatte Nagarika Horata Samiti on the occasion of the first anniversary of its agitation against pollution from MRPL and SEZ industries.
"If the people are denied justice, we are ready to continue our agitation against pollution from MRPL and other industries in Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and observe even the decennary and golden jubilee of the agitation," proclaimed Mr Katipalla, who is also the leader of Jokatte Nagarika Horata Samiti.
Speaking on the occasion, advocate Dinesh Hegde Ulipady said that false cases were being booked against agitation leaders in an attempt to break the spirit of protestors.
Agitators should participate in the struggle against companies without giving a thought to such attempts. They should support a lawful agitation, he told the gathering.
DYFI leader B K Imthiyaz, Horata Samiti convenor B H Hussain, Raghavendra Bhat, Kalavoor Church head priest Fr Aranha, Jokatte gram panchayat vice president Samshuddin, members Sulochana, Aboobaker Bava, T H Moideen Sharief, Krishnappa Poojary and others were present in the public meeting.
Prior to the meeting, a procession was undertaken from panchayat gudde to Jokatte KBS Junction.
