Mangalore, Aug 4: The Mangalore traffic police department has written a letter to the regional passport office in the city directing them not to issue passport to Akash Shetty who was deemed responsible for the death of BCom student Andrea Patrao who died in a bike accident few days ago at Urwa Store.

Akash Shetty (18), was riding the bike which met with an accident on July 30 near Urwa Store. The accident resulted in the death of Andrea who was riding pillion on the bike.
According to evidence, the police say that Akash was riding the bike in a rash manner when the accident occurred. Although it is said that he immediately took Andrea to the hospital, he left immediately thereafter without informing anyone. He was later arrested by the police for further investigation.
The traffic police have written to the passport office to deny issuance of a passport to Akash Shetty (18), who had applied for a passport at the regional office in Mangalore.
Akash and Andrea were residents of the same apartment building and were friends since childhood. Akash was studying at a college in Bangalore and had come down to Mangalore for police verification which is necessary for issuance of a passport.
Not first time!
Following the accident, the traffic police have taken into consideration that he was responsible for another road mishap which claimed the lives of two workers at a bus stop at Panambur in August 2010, and recommended that he should not be issued a passport.
