Mysuru, Nov 6: A 7-year-old girl has created a new world record by driving a heavy lorry at Eid-gah Maidan in Mysuru in front of hundreds of people.
The achievement of Rifah, daughter of Tajuddin, a famous racer who had won several state and national awards, is likely to find place in Golden Book of World Records.
According to Tajuddin, his daughter as a prodigy and who learnt to drive vehicles at the age of 3. “She aspires to be a fighter pilot,” he said.
The event was witnessed by scores of people and though the girl drove the vehicle on a ground, there was no barricading as a precautionary measure.
People curious about the event were ambling all over the place and applauding the girl’s driving skills in violation of safety norms.
When contacted, a senior police officer said the RTO issues special permission limited only to the event for such occasions.
He said some people had sought permission from the police during Dasara to let the girl demonstrate her driving skills but it was denied. However, the girl had demonstrated some stunts during Chinnara Dasara as well.
