American woman held with live bullet at Delhi Airport

New Delhi, Oct 24: A woman flyer fromUnited States of America was apprehended at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) for allegedly carrying a live bullet in her baggage.

Officials said the incident was reported on October 21 when on-duty Central Industrial Security Force officials detected the live bullet of 9mm caliber gun in the woman's bag, when she was undergoing se curity check before taking a flight to New York.

They said the woman has been identified as one M Posey and she was travelling with her husband to the US.

"The woman along with her husband were handed over to Delhi Police for further action.Carrying of firearms and bullets in aircraft is prohibited under the Indian aviation laws," the officials added.
