Mangalore, Jul 23: A preparation meet for the impending Badria alumni get-together-2014 was recently held in the city wherein more than a dozen old students of the Badria Educational Institutes shared their views and opinions on how to uplift their ailing alma mater.
The attendees unanimously urged city based entrepreneur and Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Mohammed Ameen to lead the alumni association.
Mr Ameen said that the Badria alumni network which has been taking shape in India and gulf countries should be strengthened in coming days.
A strong network of alumni is necessary to officially involve in the upliftment of the historic institute, he opined.
Mr Ameen said that the main cause of the alumni association should be the development of the institute.
“Our stance is clear. We are here to co-operate with the current executive committee of the institute and not to confront it,” he said adding that the alumni association will not be a parallel committee to run the institute.
Most of the attendees opined that alumni can provide the necessary facilities to the institute and involve in its development in a transparent manner instead of directly funding the present executive committee.
The Badria alumni get-together is scheduled to be held on Saturday, July 26, at Jamiyyatul Falah Auditorium, behind Kankanady Juma Masjid, Mangalore. The meet would commence at 5 p.m. and conclude with Iftar.
