The arrested are B Umar (50) from Cherangai and Aboobaker (45) from Kunnangula in Bekal.
The two were said to be acting on the behest of Puttu alias Abdulla Hameed, Manish Shetty and Munnali, accomplices of underworld mobster Dawood Ibrahim.
Following their orders, Umar and Aboobaker, along with other accused, hatched a plan to attack and shoot at the house of Mohammed Kunhi in order to threaten him.
According to the police, the two came into contact with the underworld associates while serving time in Bangalore prison earlier. During interrogation, Umar revealed that it was Mohammed Ali alias Munna, who demonstrated the plan and disclosed the location of Mohammed Kunhi's residence.
The shooting incident occurred on June 26, 2010.
Police are on the lookout for another accused in the case named Zaya. Last month, police had nabbed Puttu alias Hameed and Ali alias Munna. Based on the information provided by them, they were able to nab Umar and Aboobaker.
Between 26 June 2010 and 18 July 2013, two incidents of shooting took place on Mr Kunhi's house. He was apparently being threatened for not willing to hand over a sum of Rs 50 crores demanded by the underworld gang.
