Mangalore, Sep 25: A case has been registered against a man who tried to transfer his'Shani Grahachara' (misfortune) to the Koraga community through'Ajalu' practice on a family and thereby attempting to offend the community.

It is alleged that Jagannath Shenoy approached the family of Raja and Manoj on Mahalaya Amavasya to transfer his'Shani' to their family by handing over a saree. It is said that he was adamant on wanting to transfer his misfortune to the Koraga family.
Although Raja and family refused to indulge his whims, Shenoy did not give up his stance of wanting to transfer his misfortune to the Koraga family. When he refused to leave, the police were informed, who soon arrived on the scene.
Jagannath Shenoy was arrested after a complaint was filed at Urwa police station. It is said that Jagannath voluntarily admitted to his mistake.
Raja and his family, including his son Manoj, are residents of Kudmul Ranga Rao colony in Kodikal.
A case has been registered under the SC/ST Atrocities Act. Ajalu is a practice that differentiates the Koraga community from others and treats them as inferior individuals, thereby leading to their humiliation and exploitation.
