Udupi, Jul 18: Udupi district Superintendent of Police Boralingaiah said that the postmortem report of the 17-year-old girl, whose decomposed body was found near Byndoor in Udupi district on July 12, has not confirmed rape.

Addressing the media persons at Kundapur on Thursday, SP said that police were investigating the case from all the angles.
The preliminary report suggests that the girl was not sexually assaulted before death. “It could not be said if it is a case of suicide or murder till the investigation is completed,” he said adding that a high level probe would also be conducted in to the case.
However, family members of the family and Kothari Sangha members are not ready to buy the theory stating that the girl's body was found under mysterious circumstances.
Udupi district Kothari Samaja Seva Sangha President Gopala Kothari said that the girl was not so weak to commit suicide. “It's not suicide but appears to be murder. Moreover, we had searched entire place where the body was found. But, after two days somebody might have dumped her body found in the same place,” he suspected urging the SP to bring the culprits to the justice.
