Bengaluru, Nov 16: The Karnataka High Court on Thursday appealed to striking private doctors to call off their stir immediately.
"Looking at the gravity of the situation, we appeal to all private doctors associations to call off their strike immediately and participate in the meeting called by government to have an open discussion over their grievances," a division bench headed by Acting Chief Justice HG Ramesh observed while adjourning the hearing on a batch of PILs over the issue to Friday for further hearing.
This was after Advocate General informed the court that the government has an open mind on the issue and Chief Minister has called a meeting on the issue wherein all inputs given by select committees will be considered and the doctors can also have meaningful discussion, all these before tabling of the KPME amendment bill on the floor of state legislature.
During the hearing, the Indian Medical Association, Karnataka chapter informed the court that none of their 27000 members have resorted to strike.
