Bengaluru, Nov 2: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has said that he would stand by his statement on beef eating and would not get threatened by any protest.

“Till date I have never eaten cow meat. But if it suits my palette and if I want to eat beef, I will eat it. Nobody can stop me and I don't get bogged by BJP protest,” he reiterated.
He rubbished the accusation of the BJP and said the party leaders have no idea about the constitution. "I have completely read on freedom of food and I will abide by it... Beef or pork, it’s my choice," he added.
Asked about Pejawar Mutt seer Vishwesha Teertha Swami’s sharp reaction, the chief minister said that he was not ready to respond to communally intolerant and absurd stamens.
It could be recalled here that Pejawar seer had questioned the CM whether he will keep quiet if someone eats pork in front of a mosque.
Responding to seer’s statement, a close aide of Siddaramaiah said that the chief minister never said that he would consume beef in front of any religious place. “The seer’s statement clearly shows what kind of person he is,” he said.
He went on to claim that by comparing beef with pork, the seer has insulted the holy cow.
