Bidar, Oct 4: After facing a series of sex scandals during its recent rule in Karnataka, the BJP in this south Indian state has now landed in a fresh nanga-nach row, with a host of its leaders being caught in camera allegedly watching the performance of a female stripper and forcing them to perform nude-dance in a b-grade party at a guest house.

The shocking news has kicked up a new political storm in Karnataka, with political parties including ruling Congress, attacking the saffronists, who proclaim themselves to be the harbinger of Hindu culture.

All the televisions in the state have been continuously airing the visual images of a sleaze act, where in Babu Wali, Bidar BJP District unit General Secretary, the party's former district vice president and DCC Bank former President B S Kudure among others surrounding a naked woman performing erotic dance.

Political conspiracy

Denying all the allegations, Mr Wali said that it was an attempt by his political opponent to tarnish his image. “I was not in the video. It was morphed,” he said.

He claimed the video was “uploaded four years ago to a website from Pakistan and was titled'Nanga Nach'.”

In the video, the man shown is “simply my look-alike.” Some politically motivated people have tried to “take advantage” of the footage. They conspired against him to damage his political career, he thundered. The BJP leader said he would file a defamation suit against the news channel and its reporter for “causing distress to me and my family members”.

As soon as news channels began telecasting the footage, political temperature shot up in the district. Several Kannada, Dalit and students' organisations took to the streets, reacting strongly to the video. They demanded that the politicians shown in the video be arrested.

Besides, some news channels telecast the interview of a woman whose face was covered with a veil. She directedly accused BJP leaders — even naming some of them — of watching the nude dance. The channels also showed her naming Congress MLA from Humnabad, Rajashekar Basavaraj Patil.

The leaders, including Patil, denied the woman's allegations. They also met the Superintendent of Police, K Thiyagarajan, demanding a detailed probe into the matter.

Meanwhile, a case was booked under Section 354 of the IPC at the Gandhi Gunj police station in the town. But separate complaints had been filed by Wali, Kudre and Patil denying charges and seeking a probe, Thiyagarajan told reporters. Patil asserted that he was ready to be hanged before the State Legislature if charges against him are proved.

He asserted that his name was being dragged into the matter. “I do not know any such woman and have never met her,” he said, exuding confidence that he would come clean.

The BJP's State unit has sought a probe by the cyber crime police. In a press statement, the party's State spokesperson Ashwathnarayana said that no BJP leader was involved in the episode. “It is a political conspiracy to tarnish the party's image,” he said.

Raghunath Malkapure, Head of BJP Disciplinary Committee said Babu Wali was removed from the post six month ago.
“He is no more associated with the BJP,” he said.

Why does it surprise people of BJP'S behaviour? Their culture is abusive. They abuse women, Muslims, Christians, Billavas, Bunts and Dalits. While proposing a moral code they are most immoral. They can attack pub parties, create havoc when boys and girls move together, mesmerize people about Hindu culture against beef and export as much beef as possible. I do not know why the people do not understand a political party that is determined to divide India? It is better the party is banned

Bengaluru, Mar 22: An FIR has been registered against BJP MP Tejasvi Surya over a provocative hate post on social media, Election Commission officials said on Friday.

The move comes after a complaint filed by officials of the poll body and Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) that the Bengaluru South MP, who is also the President of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, had in a post apparently targeted a minority and spread enmity between two communities.

He also made a similar post on March 19 on X and YouTube which went viral. He has 1.3 million followers on X, thereby influencing the voters and disturbing the communal harmony between the communities, it further alleged.

Based on the complaint, an FIR was registered at Halasuru Gate police station on March 20 under sections 153 A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc., and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony), 295 A (Deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) of the Indian Penal Code and the Representation of the People Act, the officials said.

Bengaluru, Mar 15: Former Karnataka chief minister and senior BJP leader B S Yediyurappa was booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act on Thursday for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor at his residence in Bengaluru last month.

Yediyurappa, 81, was booked after a woman lodged a complaint saying that she visited his residence on February 2 seeking justice in a rape case against her daughter and sought that a special investigation team (SIT) be formed to look into the case.

According to the first information report (FIR), Yediyurappa allegedly took the minor to a room, closed the door and sexually assaulted her. The woman further alleged in the FIR that when she confronted Yediyurappa, he said that he was checking if the girl was raped or not. Yediyurappa later allegedly apologised and asked the woman not to reveal the matter to anyone.

The Sadashivanagar police in Bengaluru have registered a case under Section 8 (commit sexual assault) of the Pocso Act and Section 354 (a) (sexual harassment) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Reacting to the allegations, the former CM said that around one-and-a-half months ago, they (the victim and her mother) had come to his house seeking help and he had taken them inside.

“After listening to her, I called the city police commissioner B Dayananda over phone seeking to address her problem. Later, they spoke against me and I then suspected that there is some health problem with her. I sent them to city police commissioner’s office. I even gave her some money as they were in distress. I came to know that an FIR has been registered and will look into it. But this is what I get for helping someone,” he added.
