Mangaluru, Sep 30: A 22-year-old man has been detained by the Dakshina Kannada district police after he allegedly tried to molest a teenage school girl at Alekadi in Sullia taluk.
Additional superintendent of police C B Vedamurthy said on Tuesday Suresh Alekadi allegedly held the hand of the student and misbehaved with her when she was on her way home.
The student, who informed her parents on reaching home, became very aloof in school on Wednesday. Seeing the girl behave differently, school teachers spoke to the girl and ascertained the reason.
Based on her account of the incident and with the support of her parents, school authorities lodged a complaint with the jurisdictional Bellare police station.
Vedamurthy said police detained the accused and he could be arrested and produced before the court once the legal process is over. A case was registered under sections 354 of IPC and Pocso Act.

Mr. Sanal Kotian , school closes at maximum 5 pm. The girl was walking from school to her home . you should know that In a village side there will be less people in the road , Suresh was watching all this and he wants to make love with that girl.
Here it is surprising news that now a days all these such nonsense things are happening in Sullia. First of all the leaders who make provocative speech and encourage youths for bad things should be arrested and punished.
