Rape and murder in temple: SHO suspended, key accused absconding

Badaun, Jan 6: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Uttar Pradesh's Badaun has suspended an SHO for negligence in the rape and murder case of a woman after the postmortem report revealed that she was not only gang raped in a Hindu temple but also brutalized.

Superintendent of Police Siddharth Verma said, "The postmortem report confirmed the rape. A case has been registered against the three accused, including the Mahant of Dharmasthala under sections of gang rape and murder. Two accused have been arrested in the case. Some policemen have been negligent towards the case so the SHO has been suspended with immediate effect. Action will also be taken against other people who didn't perform their duties. The search for the main accused is on."

The victim went to worship at a temple in the nearby village on Sunday evening. At around 11 p.m., the caretaker of the temple threw the body of the victim outside her home and ran away. The children of the victim recognised the accused and informed the police.

1. If our India applies Islamic law then the accused should get capital punishment - then only we can control these type of rape and murder. Can anyone heard the same news in Islamic countries? No because of the strict law.
2. Ladies dress code is also a factor which makes the opposite sex to do this type of crime. It means Ladies who wear these type of dress also to be blamed.
3. Restriction of marriage for Temple priests. They are also human being and they should also be allowed to marry to fulfill their wishes.

Hindu woman wears burqa to pose as Muslim customer, enters husband’s textile shop and stabs him

Bantwal: A domestic dispute appears to have led to a violent confrontation in BC Road area, where the owner of a textile shop was allegedly attacked with a knife by his wife on Wednesday evening.

Krishna Kumar Somayaji, the owner of Somayaji Textiles, sustained serious injuries in the incident and was immediately taken to a hospital for treatment. He is currently receiving care in the intensive care unit and is reported to have survived the assault, according to police.

The Bantwal Town police have registered a case against Somayaji's wife, Jyothi KT, who has since been taken into custody.

Police stated that the complainant, Namita, an employee at the shop, reported the sequence of events. She stated that around 7 p.m. on Wednesday, the suspect entered the shop, wearing a burqa and disguised as a customer, before attacking Somayaji with a knife. The employee then transported the injured owner to a local hospital via an autorickshaw.

Superintendent of Police Arun K confirmed that an ongoing domestic dispute between Somayaji and his wife reportedly preceded the attack. Police noted that Jyothi KT had previously visited the shop and issued threats.

Based on the complaint, Bantwal Town police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Indian Arms Act-1959. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
