Bangalore, December 18: A 23-year-old non-resident Indian (NRI) fell from his 14th floor flat at Mico Layout on Saturday morning.

According to the police, the victim Pranav Lohit Gurudutt was residing with his mother at the newly constructed Lake View apartment. Pranav’s uncle Sreekantappa told the police that Pranav was undergoing treatment for depression.

Pranav was born and brought up in the US and had completed his BSc in Chemistry. A year ago, his parents Dr Gurudutt and Aruna bought the flat.

Aruna and Pranav had moved into the house ten days ago. Dr Gurudutt and his elder son, who is a medical practitioner, too were supposed to join them after completing a few pending works in the US.

The police said, on Friday night Pravan had gone to bed after dinner. They suspect that he had jumped from the balcony later in the night.

Srinivas, a security guard, told the police that around 1.30 am, he heard a loud thud and saw the youth’s body. Immediately, he alerted the security supervisor, who contacted the apartment managers and the police.

The police were not able to gather more information as Pranav’s mother was in a state of shock. His father and brother are expected to arrive in the City by Sunday night.
