Udupi police solve robbery case; one held

Udupi, March 10: The district police have cracked the case of a daring robbery, which took place at a house near the Dr. A.V. Baliga Memorial Hospital at Doddanagudde here on the night of March 4, where four robbers had made good with valuables, including ornaments and a car, whose value was estimated at Rs. 14.5 lakh.

The district police said on Friday that they had arrested the accused Shringesh (26) at Devara Chikkanahalli near Bangalore on Thursday. Shringesh is a resident of Tirthahalli.

The police have recovered Rs. 22,000, a gold ring, a silver anklet, three ladies watches and a sports utility vehicle from Shringesh. The search for the other three was on, the police said.
