Dalit family in MP forced to live in toilet

Tikamgarh, Jul 25: Promise of providing housing to the poor has been made by both Centre as well as State governments but a Dalit family in Tikamgarh district of Madhya Pradesh is forced to live in a toilet for the last several years.

However, the administration denied that the family is living in the toilet.

Maganlal Ahirwar, his wife and four children live in Keshavgarh Gram Panchayat of Mohangarh area of Tikamgarh district. All of them have been living in the toilet for four years. Ahirwar's wife Phula Devi said she told the authorities several times that her family didn't get house under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, but no one listened. The couple even got their daughter married in the same toilet.

They even got an electricity connection and gas connection under the Ujjwala scheme.

Mohangarh tehsildar Dr. Abhijeet Singh told media persons, "I got to know about the case and have asked for the report. Maganlal Ahirwar came to the office two-three days ago and denied that he was living in the toilet with his family. He has an ancestral house in the village."

He might have lived in a toilet earlier but currently he is not living there, Dr. Singh added.

Kalaburagi, Sept 27: Seven people, including a pregnant woman, were killed and two others seriously injured when a car in which they were travelling rammed into a standing transport lorry near Savalagi village of Kalaburagi district on Sunday morning.

According to the police, the deceased as well as injured belonged to a single-family and they were native of Aland taluk of Kalaburagi.

On Seven deceased three women and four male.

Police also said the deceased were on the way to the hospital for admitting the pregnant woman belonged to the family and the car in which they were travailing rammed to the roadside standing lorry near Savalagi village of Kalaburagi.

Injured were shifted to Kalaburagi government hospital and their condition was said to be serious, the source said.

Kalaburagi rural police registered the case.

Mumbai, Sept 14: Five of the six alleged drug peddlers, who were arrested in a drug case in connection with Sushant Singh Rajput's death, have been sent to the custody of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) while one has been granted bail.

"NCB presented six accused before the court. Sanket Patel gets bail on a surety of Rs 15,000. Karam Jeet Singh, Dwayne Fernandes, and Ankush Anreja remanded in NCB custody till September 16," Sandeep Karke, Lawyer Of Karamjeet Singh Anand and Sanket Patel told reporters here.

"In FIR, NCB accessed some WhatsApp chat and the agency investigated it. During the investigation, no narcotic substance in commercial quantity has been recovered from them. Rs 6 lakhs which was recovered from Karam Jeet belongs to her mother," he said.

Sandeep Gupta and Aftab Fateh Ansari have been sent to judicial custody till September 23.

NCB alleged that Sanket Patel used to deliver narcotic stuff to celebrities.

23-year-old Karam Jeet Singh Anand was apprehended in the case and NDPS substance such as Ganja, Charas has been recovered from him, NCB said.

"Dywan Anthony Fernandes along with two persons has been apprehended from Dadar (West), Mumbai, who used to supply Ganja. In this case 500 grams of Ganja has been recovered. Ankush Arenja, age 29 years of Powai was also apprehended who is a receiver of contraband from Karam Jeet and also supplies it to arrested accused Anuj Keshwani and 42 grams of Charas and cash of Rs 1,12,400 has been recovered from him," NCB had said.

Mysuru, Sept 22: Forest officials in an operation arrested two poachers hunting deer at Nagarhole national park and trying sell meat, forest officials said on Tuesday.

Forest officials said that the arrested persons have been identified as Manu and Manju.

On a tip-off, the forest officials raided near annachouka forest range area where the accused were trying to sell the meat.

The officials said they have seized deer meat, one single baron gun while two other accused were escaped.

A case has been registered under the Wildlife Act.
