Bengaluru, Oct 20: The BJP Bengaluru unit has reportedly enquired with its Shantinagar city unit leader Ramesh Yadav over the harassment of an Australian for sporting a tattoo of “goddess” Yellamma on his shin.

“If the allegations were true, then the police would have booked a case against him by now,” he maintained.
Making it clear that it was the police who had resorted to the measure of getting a written apology from the Australian youth for sporting the tattoo, he said that the Home Department should clarify this.
Video Proof
Meanwhile, four videos of the incident recorded on mobile phones emerged on Monday. They clearly show the local BJP leader and his associates threatening to skin the law student, in the presence of police, outside the restaurant on Residency Road on Saturday.
R.V. Ramesh Yadav, the local BJP leader, justified his actions while speaking media on Monday. He claimed that he intervened and got his friend to withdraw his complaint after Matthew Gordon submitted an apology letter at the Ashok Nagar Police Station.
Meanwhile, DCP (Central) Sandeep Patil said that though Mr. Gordon had not lodged a complaint, they have taken up an inquiry into the incident. “If we find that the complainants had heckled Mr. Gordon, we will take action against them. We have collected CCTV footage from the restaurant,” he said.
