“Haider” wins People’s Choice Award at Rome Film Festival

New Delhi, Oct 26: Vishal Bhardwaj’s Haider won the People’s Choice Award at Rome Film Festival 2014. The film was screened on Friday in the “Mondo Genere” section.

Director Vishal Bhardwaj and actor Shahid Kapoor walked the red carpet with the dance troupe “BollyMasala Dance Company”. The troupe is directed by Ambili Abraham, a choreographer and Bollywood dance icon in Italy since 2000.

Vishal Bhardwaj also attended a conversation with the Festival audience on “Shakespeare and Cinema”.

Bhardwaj’s modern-day adaptation of William Shakespeare’s “Hamlet”, set in Kashmir; Haider was released in India on October 2. The film was also screened at the recently concluded Busan International Film Festival in South Korea.
