Mangalore, Aug 14: Haj pilgrims from across twin district of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi on Wednesday were vaccinated in Mangalore.
As many as 457 Haj aspirants including four from Goa were given vaccination. For the first, health cards for Haj pilgrims were also distributed.
Vaccination certificates of meningitis and oral polio vaccines were issued to them. A checklist for Hajj pilgrims was also given to them to prepare for the pilgrimage. Vaccination of Hajj pilgrims prior to their departure to Mecca had to be done and certificate has to be issued as per requirements.
Karnataka State Hajj Committee made arrangements for administering the mandatory vaccine for meningitis-brain fever and also for polio drops in association with District Wakf advisory council at Yenepoya Hospital, here.

Private Secretary to the Minister for Information and Haj Ejaz Ahmed, Karnataka Waqf Boad CEO Meer Anis, Karnataka Haj Committee President Mabroor Ahmed, District Waqf Boad Advisory Board President Haji S M Rasheed Haji, former President Usman, Mangalore Haj Camp president Y Muhammad Kunhi, Yenepoya Abdullah Kunhi and others were present.
