Mumbai, Mar 28: West Indies (179/4 in 19.4 overs) defeated Australia (178/8 in 20 overs) by 4 wickets
West Indies cruised to a six-wicket win against Australia in their league match at the Shere Bangla Stadium in Mirpur on Friday. Captain Darren Sammy sealed it with two sixes of the 3rd and 4th ball of the final over to take Windies home in style.
Chris Gayle cracked 53 off just 35 balls, rediscovering some good form as the West Indies openers put up 50 in just 5 overs.
The middle order consisting of Simmons, Samuels, Bravo and Sammy then ensured the West Indies never fell too far behind the required run-rate.
For Australia, several batsmen got starts but none could convert it into a big score. Warner (20), Maxwell (45) and Hodge (35) all made contributions.
