Udupi, Jun 20: Three persons suffered injuries as a car rammed another car, a motorbike and a scooter by the side of the road on Udupi-Manipal Road at Kadiyali here on Monday.
According to the Udupi Traffic Police, the car, with a Kerala registration number, was on its way from Manipal to Udupi, when the driver lost control and hit the other car, which was parked by the side of the road, and then it hit a motorcycle and a scooter, which were parked nearby, at Kadiyali.
The occupants of the car with the Kerala registration number — Ratnamma and Prasannakumari — suffered minor injuries. As the motorcycle was parked in front of an electricity pole, it prevented the car from hitting the pole and a major accident was averted. The scooter rider, Prakash, who was in the process of parking the vehicle, suffered minor injury.
Due to the accident, traffic was held up for some time and curious onlookers gathered around the spot. The traffic police later arrived and dispersed the crowd. A case was registered at the Udupi Traffic Police Station. Investigation is on.
