Mangaluru, Jun 26: U T Khader, minister for food and civil supplies, has urged Shobha Karandlaje, MP of Udupi-Chikkamagaluru, to stop making baseless allegations against Karnataka government.
Addressing a press conference, Mr Khader said that being in a responsible position Ms Karandlaje should not resort to low level politics.
“I request her to stop making irresponsible, false and politically motivated allegations against the state government in general and food, civil supplies department in particular,” he said.
"If she has any proof regarding a scam in my department, let her write to us and we will conduct inquiry," he added.
Mr Khader also dismissed Karandlaje's allegation that a ration card mafia existed in Karnataka. "Our government has taken necessary steps to curb bogus ration cards. Ms Karandlaje should remember that suo moto complaint was lodged by then Lokayukta Santosh Hegde against the mafia during her tenure as minister," he said.
