Announcing this at a news conference here on Friday, Ramesh Manjeshwar from Bahrain Kannadigas said that the preparations for the Kannadotsava' were in full swing.
The event will showcase cultural performances such as Thenku-Badagu Yakshagana, classical and semi-classical dances, folk dances, film dances and a fashion show by students living in Bahrain.
The programme will be organised in association with Guru Institute, Hubli and Gurubala Enterprises, Bangalore. It will be directed by senior drama artist Yashwanth Sardeshpande, Bangalore, he said.
Minister for Sports and Youth Services Abhayachandra Jain, Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and chief editor of Kannada Prabha Vishweshwar Bhat will grace the occasion as chief guests, he added.
The event is scheduled to begin at 4.30 p.m. on Sunday. Last year, the event was held in Bangalore and this year, it will be held in Mangalore.
