Kundapur, Sep 17: Tension prevailed in some areas of Kundapur taluk on Wednesday after a group of miscreants owing allegiance to the Sangh Parivar ambushed a cattle-laden vehicle and tried to assault the cattle traders in the early hours at a remote village
The incident took place at around 4:00 a.m. near Amasebail village of Kundapur taluk when six calves were being transported in an Omni car reportedly from Hengavalli village to Kundapur town.
When all of a sudden a group of armed miscreants waylaid the vehicle, the driver made a futile attempt to speed away, as the vehicle hit an electric pole while taking reverse.
However, those who were inside the vehicle managed to escape from the hands of the armed miscreants.
The police who reached the spot after some time took the damaged vehicle and cattle to the jurisdictional Shankernarayana police station.
