Mangalore, Sep 20: With the police having failed to trace a Dubai-bound youth who went missing from Mangalore International Airport three months ago, the missing youth's father has handed over a memorandum to Kerala CM Oomen Chandy urging for a comprehensive investigation in the case.
Babu had been employed as an accountant at Fujairah Trade Centre in Dubai, and his wedding had been fixed to take place on September 31. He had arrived home on May 21 and made several arrangements for his wedding before planning to return to Dubai on May 25.
He was accompanied to the airport in Mangalore by his brother Binoy to see him off on his journey. However, as soon as news reached his family that Babu had not reached Dubai, his family members lodged a'missing person' complaint with the Kasargod Superintendent of Police.
During the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that Babu had neither checked-in nor boarded on his scheduled flight.
It was also found out that Babu's mobile phone was switched off after having received a last phone call from his neighbour named Arati on the day he went missing. The police were unable to find out any helpful information during their interrogation of Arati.
With no further leads on the disappearance on his son, Babu's father Kannan has urged the CM to start an enquiry in this regard.
