Responding to queries at a press conference here on Thursday, he said that he was not willing to stop the operations of the company as it provided employment to several. “We will try to secure permission from the Centre for running the manufacturing plant for few more years while discussing in the Parliament,” he said.
Speaking about the commencement of flights from Mangalore to three new destinations, Mr Kateel said that the respective proposals had been submitted to initiate new flights from Mangalore International Airport to Pune, Delhi and Hubli via Bangalore. In this regard, permission will be expected shortly to initiate flights to Pune and Delhi to curb the monopolistic practices, he said.
When asked about the completion of the Baikampady bridge, the MP said that the earlier deadline for the completion of bridge had been set for September 30. “However, as the work has not been completed, we have asked the contractors to complete the work by the end of January 2015,” he said.
