Mangaluru, Feb 26: The district unit of Sri Rama Sene has assured full support to the organisers of Virat Hindu Samajotsav scheduled to be organized at Nehru Maidan here on March 1 by Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Anand Shetty Adyar, regional president of the organisation said that the members of the outfit had held discussions with Vishwa Hindu Parishad leaders, who were organising the Samajotsav at Nehru Maidan and assured them of their support.
Members of Sri Rama Sene have begun their door-to-door campaigning and inviting people to the Samajotsav. There are close to 5,000 registered members belonging to the outfit who will be involved in campaigning for the event, he said, adding that all the registered members would also participate in the event, he said.
He said that such Samajotsavs, conducted with the intention of uniting Hindus, should be held once a year. “It is the duty of every Hindu to participate in such religious events without fail. Members of the outfit are working round the clock for the success of the Samajotsav,” he said.
He added that discussions had been held for the smooth functioning of the Samajothsav and the VHP leaders would be guiding members of Shri Rama Sene in organising the event in a smooth and peaceful manner. To a query, he replied that no untoward incident would take place in connection with the Samajotsav.
District president Jeevan Neermarga, secretary Pradeep Moodushedde, vice-president Ganesh Attavar and city president Guru Pandeshwar were also present.
