Mangaluru, Nov 2: Condemning the brutal murders of two inmates by rival gangs in Mangaluru sub jail on Monday, Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel demanded the resignation of newly-inducted home minister, blaming the Congress government for the atmosphere of unrest in Dakshina Kannada district.
“I sense a political hand behind all the murders. No tangible steps were taken by the district administration towards condemning these murders or holding meetings to increase security measures in the district. Even in the recent Prashant Poojary murder case, the local Congress ministers did not visit the family nor provide compensation for his death. This shows the complete failure of the district administration in curbing the number of violent murders,” he said.
He said that the Congress administration was responsible for the unrest in the district. There is no reaction from the district in-charge minister who is mum on this issue. The Home Minister should immediately resign or conduct a probe to determine whose involvement in the murders, he demanded.
