Mangaluru, Nov 24: Residents of TC Road near Ullal defeated the communal forces, who attempted to disrupt peace by pelting stones at a building belonging to Sri Koragajja Seva Samiti on Monday evening.
However, leaders of both Hindu and Muslim communities took a pledge to defeat communal forces by not fighting each other.
Glass panes of the window of the building located at TC Road were damaged when two unidentified miscreants who came on a motorbike pelted stones and fled the spot.
The untoward incident took place when the town was abuzz with activities on the occasion of Tulasi festival.
Prior to this a tense atmosphere prevailed in the area as a group of Bajrang Dal activists gathered in front of the damaged building and started raising slogans.
Meanwhile, sleuths from Ullal police station also rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
After sometime, members of both Hindu and Muslim communities reached the spot and staged a symbolic protest together.
They also held a peace meeting and decided to file a complaint with the police. Chandrahas Ullal, Bhagawandas, Bharat, Ullal city municipal member Farooq UH among others took part in the meeting held at the same building.
