Mangaluru, May 26: India's economy has come to a grinding halt in two years of PM Narendra Modi-led NDA's rule, according to All India Mahila Congress president Shobha Oza.
Speaking to reporters in the city on Thursday she said that all the poll promises made by Modi and the BJP turned out to be just election 'jumlas' (empty promises).
Shobha said, with prices of essential commodities sky-rocketing, Modi's promised 'Acche Din' are yet to come.
"As per the official figures, country's economy grew at 7.3% in 2014-15 and 7.6% in 2015-16. It is mainly due to the new methodology adopted for calculating the GDP. But, experts believe the actual growth rate is in the region of 5.5%. Even the RBI governor and the government's chief economic advisor have expressed discomfort with the official figures," Shobha said.
Pointing at the increasing oil prices Shoba said, the price of petrol should have been Rs 31.99 per litre and that of the diesel Rs 25.4, if the government had reduced prices in proportionate with the fall in the prices of crude oil in international market. The price of crude oil has come down by 55. 2% since the Modi government took over in May 2014, she said.
She also accused Modi government of failing on its job creation promise. "They had promised to create 2 crore jobs every year, but according to union labour department, just 1.3 lakh jobs have been created in two years,'' she said. But , net FDI inflows have been dropped to a 12-month low to $1.9 billion in March 2016 from average of $ 3.1 billion during the first 11 months of the fiscal, she said.
Referring to the Make in India campaign, she said investors had no confidence in the government and it was evident from the fact that $14 million investment had gone out of the country during the last two years.
Before election, Modi had said he would bring back the black money stashed in outside the country and deposit Rs 15 lakh into the bank account of every Indian. Forget about bringing back black money, Rs 20 lakh is being spent every day to portray the Prime Minister and his government. KPCC women wing president Lakshmi Hebbalkar was present.

If the ruler is not a fair one....... that country is in trouble..even from nature. as said in all faiths.....
No value for Indian rupees.
No jobs, poor still going below their poverty level.
No rainfall, No water..Drought everywhere.
All business going down, no value or buyers for land..
Even real estate has dropped, people dont have money to own a house.
I know all the above is not in the hand of Modiji, but when people elect a wrong ruler.........the Almighty has to let them suffer...
