Speaking to reporters here after addressing the protestors on Monday — the first day of their strike — he said the Karnataka Rajya Raste Saarige Nigamagala Karmika Sanghagala Janti Samiti (Joint Committee of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation Employees' Unions) had intimated the government well in advance its intention to go on strike over “low” pay hike. The BJP urged the government to prevent corruption and leakage of funds in the transport corporations that had led to two of them suffering losses. He said the BJP would support the strike and demand an amicable solution to the problem.
