Mangaluru, Feb 28: As many as six persons have been arrested in Bantwal and Belthangady taluks of Dakshina Kananda for pelting stones on KSRTC buses and trying to create unrest during a district-wide hartal on February 25.
In spite of permission denial by the police, the saffron groups had organized the hartal in the district to register their protest against the Mangaluru visit of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
Bhushan Gulabrao Borase, superintendent of police of Dakshina Kannada, said that six persons were held in connection with five cases of stone pelting on KSRTC buses on Saturday under the limits of Belthangady, Bantwal rural and town police station.
Kavan Kumar, 23, who indulged in the act at Pilichandikallu at Kuvettu in Belthangady taluk was arrested by Belthangady police. Achyuth, another saffron activist, was arrested by Bantwal town police.
Bantwal rural police arrested four persons in connection with three cases registered in their limits. They are Aatish, 26 of Kallige, Praveen, 28 of Kumdelu, and Mukesh, 26, and Kishore, 28 of Maripalla.
All the above accused were booked under sections 427 of IPC and section 2(A) of Karnataka Prevention of Destruction of Loss of Property Act, 1981 and produced before jurisdictional court.

Only 6? What about the gang of +50 sanghis who pelted stones and damaged many buses. These goondas do this every now and then.
Collect from them all the cost of damage, replacement and loss of business etc.,
