New Delhi, Apr 24: In an all-out attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi on Monday said the country may burn, women may be raped, Dalits and minorities may be attacked but all that the Prime Minister was interested in is how to get to the high office again.
“Modiji is interested only in Modiji and he isn’t interested in anything else. How does Narendra Modi become PM? That’s the only question whose answer he seeks. Dalits can die, minorities can face atrocities, women can get raped, nothing matters. He only wants to know what he should do to become PM again,” said Mr. Gandhi, while launching the ‘Save Constitution Campaign’, organised by the Scheduled Caste (SC) department of his party in the wake of the Supreme Court order on the SC/ST Act.
“The Prime Minister sees spirituality in cleaning of toilets and making ‘pakodas’. But, for Modi, becoming Prime Minister only is spirituality,” said Mr. Gandhi.
‘Parliament shut’
The Congress leader alleged that the government was trying to “crush and trample upon the Supreme Court.” “Parliament has been kept shut,” he charged.
He threw a 15-minute challenge at the Prime Minister. “Just let me speak for 15 minutes in front of Modiji. I want to speak for 15 minutes on the Rafale deal, on Nirav Modi and Modiji won’t be able to stand there.”
He accused Prime Minister Modi of “embarrassing” the country at global fora, pointing to the International Monetary Fund chief Christine Lagarde urging him to focus on women’s safety in the backdrop of the Kathua and Unnao incidents.
