Bengaluru Mar 1: JD(S) leader P G R Sindhia on Wednesday said the state government should convene a meeting of leaders of all political parties and irrigation experts to discuss the Supreme Court verdict on the Cauvery river issue.

The state has to be careful in order to protect the interest of people in the Cauvery basin region. The state may land in trouble if appropriate steps are not taken immediately, the former minister warned, addressing a press conference here.
The state government is spending crores of rupees on publicising its programmes and schemes despite mounting debt. The government has borrowed Rs 2 lakh crores in five years. The government has not done anything except for rolling out Bhagya schemes, Sindhia charged.
The JD(S) leader said the party is holding talks with Asaduddin Owaisi of AIMIM for a pre-poll alliance in the coming elections. The JD(S) has already tied up with the BSP and the NCP.
