Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) has issued a notice to Harsha Moily, son of the former Chief Minister M Veerappa Moily, whose tweet alleging money power in the selection of candidates for the Assembly elections had embarrassed the party.
On March 15 Veerappa Moily and Harsha Moily tweeted: “INC needs to solve money in politics. We can’t afford to have road contractors and their nexus with the state PWD minister determine how candidates are selected for the upcoming assembly elections.”
However, Veerappa Moily had on Friday distanced himself from the tweet, saying his account could have been hacked. The tweet disappeared on Friday from their accounts.
The tweet apparently took a dig at Public Works Minister H C Mahadevappa, a close associate of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. According to sources, both Moily and Mahadevappa have been lobbying for the party tickets for their sons from different constituencies in looming assembly polls. Mahadevappa had reportedly asked Siddaramaiah not to field Harsha Moily in the polls this time.
