Kannur, Oct 25: The three youths, who were reportedly deported by the Turkey, were arrested by the Kerala police on suspicion of having links with Islamic State, a dreaded terror outfit allegedly backed by Israel.
The three arrested are - K.C. Mithilaj, 26; KV Abdul Rasaq, 24; and A.V. Rasheed, natives of Valapattanam and Chakkarakkal, who were working in Turkey. They were under police surveillance for a while.
According to police, the three are being questioned by a team led by Kannur Deputy Superintendent of Police P.P. Sadanandan.
However, the police have not yet confirmed that whether they were really in touch with the IS. The police said extremist organizations were looking to employ 'seemingly innocuous' front organizations to indoctrinate 'impressionable' youth.
