Mumbai, May 30: Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit Nene has been served a notice by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for endorsing Maggi noodles, an official said on Friday.
The FDA in Uttar Pradesh had sought a recall of a March 2014 batch of Maggi after tests revealed dangerous levels of zinc and a breach of the allowed limits of monosodium glutamate in it.
The actress has been asked to give in writing her promotion of the brand and its nutrients within a fortnight, failing which a case would be filed against her.
Food Security official Mahimanand Joshi has said that in case the actress failed to furnish the information sought by the department, action would be initiated against her as per law.
