Mammootty film 'Unda' courts controversy

Kochi, Jun 27: Malayalam film 'Unda' starring Mammootty, has courted a controversy following a direction from Kerala High Court to the Centre to take action against those who damaged the ecology of a reserve forest at Kasaragod.

A road has been laid at the ecology sensitive area for the shoot of the film. The officials concerned have given permission for the construction following a request from the movie company, sources said here on Thursday.

In his petition, Angels Nair, General Secretary, Animal Legal Force Integration, Ernakulam, said the officials violated the rules causing damage to the ecology.

Justice Shaji P Chaly in his order on Wednesday directed the Centre to take action against the officials and the movie company responsible for the damage.
