Mangalore, Aug 12: A local court has filed a complaint against a city based advocate for allegedly producing fake documents for premature withdrawal of fixed deposit related to compensation paid for an accident victim.

On inquiry, Ms. Asha said amount of Rs. 4.8 lakh had been deposited in Dena Bank's Kankandady branch on May 26.
The fixed deposit certificate had been maintained by 3rd Additional Civil Judge (Senior Division) who had passed the order of compensation.
Ms. Asha said that no letter had been issued by the court to the Dena Bank for premature withdrawal of the amount.
The letter reportedly received by the Bank for the premature release of the fixed deposit had a fake signature and seal of the Judge. Advocate A.C. Jayaraj represented applicant Dinesh, Ms. Asha said.
A similar complaint had been filed against Mr. Jayaraj and some other advocates by K. Prafulla, Chief Accounts Officer of Principal District and Sessions Court, in July 2nd week.
Police are yet to trace Mr. Jayaraj, who was reportedly at large.
