Mangaluru, Nov 19: It was an eventful and fruitful day to remember and cherish, a day of celebrations and jubilations for the very enthusiastic 600 children residing in 10 different orphanage schools in and around Mangaluru who crave for parental love and affection but unfortunately deprived. Leaving behind their pain, agony, ignoring their Grief and grievances they felt the sense of freedom, Relaxed, Freely mingled, rejoiced, played, danced, with other orphanage school children and shared their memorable moments.
It was a platform provided to the children by Rotary and Rotaract club to showcase their hidden skills in sports and inborn Talents in the Cultural Events. All the guests, spectators could notice the enjoyment and smile on the faces of the lovely children who experienced that they are not lonely.
Rotary Club of Mangaluru central jointly with Rotaract Club of Mangaluru City organised their 19th Annual Orphanage Olympics exclusively for the inmates of the 10 different Orphanages operating in and around the district on Sunday at Ramkrishna College premises. It was a one day long fun fair, Joy filled festival of sports and carnival of cultural events wherein 600 orphans after presenting a spectacular and colourful march past session, actively participated with zeal and enthusiasm. It was a day to cherish and relishing their life.
City Commissioner of Police Mr. T.R. Suresh in his inaugural address lauded the selfless and generous service of Rotary by responding to the needs of children by providing a suitable platform and a equal opportunity to showcase their skills and talents there by eliminating social inequality. He advocated that the service organizations should strive hard to eliminate the social evil, inequality and backward feeling prevailing in the society.
Chairman of the organizing committee Rtn. Dr. DevdasRai revealed that this event is a part of their Community service, the aim and objective is to bring a smile on the faces of the lovely children and a feeling that they are not lonely.
President of the Rotary Club Rtn. Raymond D’Cunha, welcomed, Asst. Governor zone II Rtn. Naveen Kumar, Charter President Rtn. PremnathKudva, S.K.S Company Executive Director SanathShetty, President of Rotaract club of Mangaluru City Rtr. PavithraAcharya, Secretary Rtr. Sharath were present Secretary Rtn. Prakashchandra proposed a vote of thanks Rtn. K.M. Hegde compeered the programme.
