Manglauru, Nov 23: Most Rev Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, the Bishop of Mangaluru, in the presence of Diocesan Pastoral Parishad members released the souvenir at Bishop’s house on Thursday.
The occasion marked the completion of five years of Mangaluru-Africa Mission in Tanzania. He then appreciated the hard work done by the mission team in Tanzania.
Fr Alwyn D’Souza, the mission director explained to the audience the work done in Education, Pastoral and Socio-economic field.
He said that life in the mission is tough and challenging but it is also interesting. The education imparted through the Higher Secondary School and specially the lab set up by the mission has become a model in Tanzania.
Around three thousand solar lights have been distributed to the families as there is no electricity in the area. Lately a fifty acre farming area is taken up for development by cultivating vegetables and poultry, goat and rabbits, he informed.
