Mangaluru, Apr 3: At least eight persons were injured, a couple of them critically, after a lorry rammed into a passenger bus at Honnakatte, Kulai on the outskirts of the city on Friday morning.
The accident occurred at around 6: 45 a.m. when the bus plying from Kinnigoli to Mangaluru reached Honnakatte.
It is learnt that when the driver stopped the bus at Honnakatte to pick up passengers, the speeding lorry rammed it from the rear end.
Six among the injured were rushed to a private hospital for treatment after the accident. The lorry driver also sustained injuries.
Jurisdictional Suratkal traffic police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
