Mangaluru, Jul 19: Music lovers across the city gathered at Forum Fiza Mall on Sunday to experience 'Soul of India,' a live concert by Indi folk rock band Aurko. Ajay Warrior and Varija Venugopal of 'Chakrafonics' delighted the audience during the three-hour show.
Aurko, led by Supratik Ghosh, gave a stunning performance.
On Saturday, music lovers in the coastal city were mesmerized by the melodies presented by popular singer Kunal Ganjawala.
People gathered in large numbers at the specially prepared auditorium at Forum Fiza Mall. They waved and danced to the tunes of Ganjawala, who presented the live show as part of Alive India in Concert, held in association with The Times of India.
Alive India In Concert is an initiative by the musicians for the musicians to create new and permanent music destinations across the country to promote live music.
The platform brings together renowned as well as upcoming musicians on a single platform. The concert takes place throughout the year and is initiated by Aurko, Bengaluru's leading Hindi rock band.
Alive India In Concert is performing in Mangaluru for the first time. Over 300 musicians have taken part in the concert over the last three seasons, which were held at Bengaluru and Pune last year.
Ganjawala has remained an integral part of Alive India series from day one and has performed twice in Bangaluru in seasons 1 and 3. Ganjwala started off with his Kannada hit 'Aagu nee rana vikrama', a song from the movie 'Rana Vikrama'. Reverberations of songs 'Neene neene' from Kannada movie 'Aakash' and the ever-inspiring Kannada song 'Onde ondu sari' from 'Mungaru Male' captured the hearts of the audience. They also demanded an encore of 'Bheege hote tere' from the movie 'Murder.'
Alive India In Concert is the country's longest running live show. It aims to unify nation's leading music icons, upcoming singers, musicians, bands, and music lovers under one roof.
"It was an excellent show. It made my day memorable. Ganjawala is a musical genius and he offered us lovely melodious moments," said Joy M, a private company executive.
