Mangaluru, Nov 13: For the second time this month, healthcare services at private medical establishments in coastal cities of Mangaluru and Udupi will be affected on Monday with several doctors participating in the protest being held in front of Suvarna Soudha in Belagavi during the legislature session.
Outpatient consultancy services were hardly available at prominent private hospitals in these cities. However, emergency services, including treatment for life-threatening cases, are available. Treatment for in-patients continued as usual.
Most of the private clinics and consultation centers in the city were also remained closed. The phone calls of those who tried to get appointments with specialists went unanswered.
Major private hospitals are operating with skeletal staff as many doctors had set off to Belagavi to protest against the proposed amendments to the KPME Act. More details are awaited.
